Very nice look at the goldfinch, Dave. I wonder how this would look if the perch was lighter?

Hi Dave. I can see how the sun was oriented, but I think I concur with Allen that it might be interesting to try binging up the perch enough to bring out a little detail in the shadowed area.

Nice bird and setting but I would go for much lower contrast in the raw conversion.

I do agree that any detail in the perch would add to the photo, but that said I love the shot. I really like a good capture of a female of a species with marked differences. i.e. Redwing Blackbird, Boat-Tailed Grackle etc. Nice catch.
