Self Critique

I really like this image of a tree growing around a rock, but I am not sure about the green plant framing. I was wondering if I should crop it in closer.

Creative direction

I wanted to covey the texture of the tree and rock as well as the color contrast.
I really like small scenes that bring out the details.

Description

My wife and I driving along Puget Sound north of Seattle. We stopped along the road to take some pictures. The day was very cloudy and the sound was not very interesting. I then noticed this tree growing around a boulder. It is interesting how nature does find a way to survive.

Good eye and nice composition. I agree that the green leaves, particularly in the bottom of the frame, are a bit distracting. You may want to selectively desaturate to see if you think that works better aesthetically.
