Very well done, Jagdeep. the intensity of the gaze really comes through.

Jagdeep, this looks great. His gaze is intent. I like how he’s framed by the vegetation and how well the textures in that vegetation coordinate with the rest of the scene. He does look regal. I was having mixed feelings about the curved stick at the bottom, but with more viewing, think that it fits well with the branches and leaves at the top.

@JRajput, what a beautiful lion! He really does seem intent on keeping an eye on that female. I, too, like the vegetation framing him. It provides context of the environment. I am wondering if you increased the blur in the rest of the image, or if that was achieved at f/6.3? In the best of all worlds, I would have liked to see a hint of the environment in those areas. Since light values attract, it might be worth darkening the areas a bit, particularly the areas right around the lion. But, overall, it may not be that important. That lion is the star of the show!

Thank you friends !
@Susanna_Euston No, I didn’t increase the blur, this is a full frame shot and lion was quite close.

Jagdeep: Striking portrait. My first impression when I saw the thumbnail was that it was some kind of processed result but the full image certainly disabuses that. You mentioned that you were quite close and judging by his eye position are you sure he was checking out the ladies or sizing you up for lunch  ? Superbly crafted image.>=))>
