Welcome to Landscape Christopher! There’s a lot to like here. This is a great patch of color, with just enough green mixed in for contrast. I think the overall composition works very well; it really let’s that tree in full sun star in the show.
I might change my mind if I actually saw it, but slightly more room at the top in trade for the bottom would be optimal? I could also see opening those shadows just a tad.
The colors are beautiful. My eyes admire all the different hues in the realm of yellow, between green and brown. Only one thing for me, as often happens the pure yellow burns in a high light.
Dear Christopher,
Thanks for sharing this image. My eyes are drawn from the large trunk of the slightly de-centered tree towards the colorful canopy. This canopy is spatially separated from other canopies, which makes it stand out. Also, the lines from the lower left corner and the lines on the right side, both created by branches, converge at the colorful canopy, reinforcing the centrality of this canopy. However, there are also other interesting things going on in the image: The round shapes of the other canopies echo the shape of the colorful canopy and makes my eye move around within the frame. Well done.
The light on the foliage is really nice in this image and the blue and yellow is a nice color combination. I wonder how this would look if the tree was centered by cropping some from the left to created a square aspect ratio.
