The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I went out this morning seeking inspiration for getting back to ICMs and was granted it! This is the first single frame ICM I have ever liked! First light coming through some other trees kissing this one which is already turning and draped with lichen.
Minor global tonal tweaks in LR, then into PS for a little dodging and burning. Several very small distracting features cloned out. Full frame as shot.

Wow! This is good! Well seen and captured…and processed! The image certainly lives up to its title.
The colours are extraordinarily beautiful. Looking at the image zoomed in, any part or piece of it would make a fine image.
The little movement you have created is something I try not to do because mine turn to crap and end up in the bin. I have more success with long upwards.
I think the movement you used here works to mirror the draping of the branches and lichen. Though, looks like Spanish moss as well. And nice that you moved your camera in a different way then the typical up/down or left/right. ICM really starts to come alive when we try these more complex movements. Well done getting back into it. Keep experimenting and having fun. We will be looking for more!
You’ve captured the essence of lichens. Drape-y and mysterious. I could see toning down the blue of the sky to make it more mysterious. The way you’ve rendered the lichens makes me think Heart of Darkness.
In that vein, I couldn’t resist taking some artistic liberties with this (hope you don’t mind ). Darkened just the sky bits, along with adjusting the color to make it look more like night, then adding a big vignette. So the vignette wouldn’t be too extreme, I brought up some detail in the lower left (there’s lots there).
Thanks, @glennie, @patrick6, @Don_Peters and @Bonnie_Lampley! Patrick, how I wish we had Spanish Moss out west! Our Lace Lichen is a poor cousin, but it does drape. But just not nearly as pretty up close. And the deer think it is potato chips so you don’t find it within their reach standing on hind legs. Don, I did hope the mystery thing came through – it’s what I felt also. Bonnie, I never mind people playing with variations!! Your take is lovely and I may have to copy it when I get a few minutes. I did darken the sky and do some vignetting but I love your more dramatic take!
I could probably never reproduce this movement as long as I tried – but I may have to try again…
