this image was taken in San Diego area. Several years ago. Just found it on my hard drive. Although there were were wimbrels and other shorebirds nearby, because of the beef I think this is a Godwit

Gorgeous detail in the bird and I think your ID is correct, David. The light and the angle of the bird with the excellent eye contact make for a fine image.

Hi David, love the long beaks on these birds and this image shows it off well. Fine colors and good look at the eye. Excellent sharpness. Wishing for more dynamic wing position but this is a fine catch as is.
