Image Description
Early morning at my local RSPB bird reserve this week was very foggy.
It’s not B/W but the colours were lost in the mist.
A Marsh Harrier passed over the lake sending the ducks in to the air. They were a few yards further away and were already getting lost in the gloom.
I think that it makes an interesting image though.

I like the array of silhouettes of the geese and what looks like an eagle heading their way. It tells a neat story. I might remove some of the partial birds on the edges.
Thanks for the comments. I have been fiddling a little with the image and decided to go even more abstract by burning out the sky and just having strong silhouettes. This is a bit ‘rough & ready’ as the individual birds need some extra attention.
I have also removed the partial birds which does seem to improve the overall framing of the picture.
Hi Ryan, nice abstract feel to this image. In the original, my eye goes to the large bird in the foreground which stands out nicely. The ducks provide a nice backdrop and further tell a story.
The second image loses the separation of the foreground bird from the others and has a much different mood. I prefer the original.
Interesting scene. Well presented either way really.
Dennis, I just saw your recent “Me and my shadow” post. I think that you have a great shot using/showing the mist effect really well with a white background.
I am unsure of the flat grey of mine.
