Critique Style Requested: Standard
The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Captured during our recent NPN NorCal get together. I hung around for a bit longer after everyone had left. I headed out the trail along the headlands looking for things to shoot. The wind was brisk to say the least, which made an easy choice for ICM! Found this cluster of summer wildflowers and had at it.
Specific Feedback
Really curious as to your general impression and feedback. This one is clearly not a mysterious one as it’s fairly obvious the subject matter.
I’m actually pretty dang happy about this one! Keeps me motivated to keep searching!
Thank you for any comments and feedback. It’s always appreciated!
Technical Details
Nikon Z8, Z224-120mm @75mm, f/22 1/8ths, iso50. 2X ND, Single frame ICM.
In full disclosure, the original “motion blur” is unchanged really, except for the square crop. However, I’ve since discovered the significant effects of the texture and clarity sliders on motion blurs like this one. Negative clarity greatly “softens” the image creating a, well, “Monet” type of texture, which I was after. A bit of positive texture helps retain a bit of detail. Also, a bit of cloning here and there to remove dark spots or otherwise, small distracting elements. Of course vibrance/saturation to taste; dodging/burning and the usual processing suspects in ACR/PS.
