Another Summer Bouquet

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Here’s another ICM flower bouquet image from the Marin Headlands a few weeks ago. This is not the same wildflower patch, but instead some unknown flowers that included a bunch of poison oak in red. Hot sun, still windy, mid-day… still amazing how a little camera motion can make all those lemons go away…

Specific Feedback

For this one, I had to finally step away as I was getting in to the over-processing stage. I felt there were some specific areas I was trying to improve, but at some point you start making this look worse. What do you think of the overall processing here? color, saturation, exposure, etc. etc.

What do you think about the inclusion of the blue sky? Adds a touch of reality - help or hurt?

As always, your comments and suggestions are welcome!

Technical Details

Nikon Z7ii, Z28-400mm @130mm, f/32 .5s iso31 likely CPL
2-image ICM in-camera blend in dark mode (maybe…)

This makes me think of underwater images, rather than hot and windy, Lon, though the colors don’t fit most underwater scenes I’ve seen. A fine result.

I, initially, scanned the image and @Dennis_Plank comment. Now I don’t see anything other than an underwater image, which, by the way, is very nice. I like the overall processing. More saturation might be taking it too far.

This is very cool, Lon. I think the processing is excellent - I’m a colour junkie and like saturation - this, to me, is not over-saturated.
I don’t see an unnnnnnnnnater image, but just your abstract of wildflowers.
Very appealing!
