There is no such thing as bad weather for a photographer. Just above freezing, snow/sleet in the air, getting very wet, but just so beautiful moody grey in the air, contrasting with the snow.

Is this calm and soothing, or just boring? Does it need more contrast? Should I have had a shorter shutterspeed to make the snow more visible?

I love this!! Wonderful rocks, the hint of a horizon, a touch of surface disturbance, and a couple of ducks (?) heading to work! Just the right detail in lights and darks. for my taste.
Annika, I’m find this very calming. The sparsely scattered, snow covered rocks and the near match between the water and the sky work together very well. The two duck add just a touch of liveliness.
Getting a bit more definition of the horizon and making the ducks more prominent adds interest. Bringing up the snow may have gone a bit too far but back to you for your consideration. >=))>
@Bill_Fach I like the idea of making the ducks a little more prominent, that looks good. However , it is really hard to get the right amount of white in the snow. Fresh snow is really white, but it still has contour and texture. I really struggle with editing fresh snow in supergrey weather.
