Description

On the last ski run of the day, we were greeted with this peaceful, serene alpenglow on the adjacent Mt Jefferson. Luckily, I had a small point-and-shoot camera in my pack

Very dreamlike Sandy! I love the layers in the foreground leading to the mountain. The clouds on top are the icing on the cake.

Nothing I would change here.

Sandy: Beautiful scene nicely rendered. I normally try to avoid the horizon at the mid point but here I think the inclusion of the clouds is important enough to warrant giving the sky 50% of the frame real estate. The layering is really nice. Makes me want to be there. >=))>

Sandy, this is a fine mix of cool and warm that is wonderfully inviting. There’s an overall softness that fits the scene also. Is that the point and shoot?

Hi Sandy,

Really nice image.

I like the color and how you develop the image. The depth given by the multiple layer of hill with various tonality and color is perfect and guide to the point of interest, the mountain with nice snow capa ne de lightly color by the sun. The could in the sky is perfect to keep us in the middle of the image, but what I like less is the top of the image above the cloud. I can’t really explain but maybe because the bright light on top catch a bit my eyes too much. So I try to crop a bit the image and if I cut the top, it doesn’t work. So I come up with this crop, square, keep the layer and the color on right only.
Hope this explain better what I mean with the top of the image.

Mark, yes, a little Panasonic. The MP and sharpness were poor back then.

Thanks, Arnaud for your crop suggestion - I lke it ! I always love to “see” other people’s visions with my images - ones I like
and others not so much -but they make me think and reconsider - which equals growth.
Thanks to everyone for the comments, since I’m trying to improve my landscape stuff - my weakest area - and I’m not at all clear in my landscape vision yet. A whole lot to learn…
