Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

The coastal range somewhere between San Francisco and Los Angeles, from probably 7500 ft. In winter we get high pressure domes that trap air pollution and moisture in low-lying elevations. When a spare the air alert is issued, it’s time to go flying.

An oldie, re-processing limited to better denoise in PS. A single frame cropped. The high SS would be because every time I hit the shutter button, we hit a bump.

Diane: Must be nice to have your own personal drone pilot, and one without any restrictions ! In my mind I have an image in Rocky Mountain NP from above the clouds. This made me revisit that imagining. Simple comp but a fine result. Most excellent. >=))>

A beautiful image, Diane. The layered mountains with the fog/smog makes a very peaceful image.

We get those kinds of inversions in the SL valley, too. It can be really gross, it never looks this good!
I like this image, I like the clean processing, minimalistic lines.
Brava!

Diane, this minimal exposing mountain tops gives the look of small islands poking out of the ocean. Excellent pano here… :+1:

Thanks, @Bill_Fach, @Dennis_Plank, @JulieEdwardsViola and @Paul_Breitkreuz! Bill, yeah, having a big drone can be cool – when both the pilot and the photographer can decide they have nothing more pressing to do that day – and the weather cooperates. Doesn’t happen often enough!
