The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
My boulder seat below the weir is giving me many willing subjects, albeit common. My aim at the moment, is to find beauty in the common and often overlooked.
A different look to the last moorhen.
Specific Feedback
Anything. All comments are appreciated and welcomed.
Lovely image of this common bird, Glenys. My only question is the exposure on the moorhen which I’m used to thinking of as black with a red beak whereas this is looking more gray and orange. Is your local variety this light in color?
Thank you @armin , @Allen_Brooks , @Don_Peters , @David_Schoen ! Thank you @Dennis_Plank ! I always aim to portray birds as they appear, with only very minimal adjustments to colour and saturation. This is a Dusky Moorhen, which is often mistaken for black but is actually a slatey grey-blue. I may have nudged the blues very slightly, but I feel it still reflects the species accurately.
Fabulous photograph Glenys. Capturing more common subjects is a theme that’s close to my heart and you’ve done a great job here. The reflection really makes the picture for me and I like that the composition gives the most space to it. Nice gentle processing as well. Right up my street - Godfrey.
Beautiful image! The position of the bird in the frame, the texture of water, the reflection that is evocative… And congratulations for a well deserved EP!
Great shot, Glenys, and I love the reflections and how you allowed the space at the bottom for the streaks of colors in the water to be such a part of the image. Well done!
