Moth and Rust (Matthew 6:19-20)

An old film shot, probably with Velvia. Found outside Independence, Texas on one of my spring flower hunts. Whenever I see an old wreck like this I try to picture what it looked like on the show room floor. At one time this was someone’s pride and joy. It’s long since been towed away. I desaturated the original and applied a bit of oil paint just for fun. All comments welcome.>=))>

Bill, the subtle desaturation fits the old car and the old buildings behind it very well. When I see things like this, I always get into imaging the stories behind them and what life was like. The gentle oil paint filter adds some additional nostalgia to the larger view.

A very good composition, Bill, with none of the distracting elements that it is usually so difficult to avoid in this kind of shot. You did an excellent job of finding the right angle. I like your decision to desaturate the image as I think the grass would have been a bit dominating at full saturation. Very well done.
