Description
I love these foggy drizzly kind of days as they provide some wonderful atmospherics and mood. My brother and I always check the weather and foliage reports and as it turned out we timed our trip to Blackwater Falls SP perfectly. This particular location is one of our first spots to check out the conditions and we were ecstatic when we arrived. The conditions were perfect with the mist/fog swirling around the Blackwater Canyon walls.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Specific Feedback

Autumn foliage in rainy/foggy conditions are well worth seeking out as this photo clearly shows. The diagonal comp works well for me, perhaps even better with a small slice off the top to the top of the trees in the upper left.
The mix of fog with such a beautiful color mix is a treat; I agree about how nice and moody this is. Such a beautiful scene and well done.
In my fog images, I always wrestle with how much of the empty fog to keep, and playing with cropping I think I agree with @Jim_Erhardt. Just a little more off the top hits the sweet spot to my eye. Those clouds look to be picking up some of the warmth from below, and it might be worth playing with moving them a little more neutral for a nice contrast with the vegetation.
Here’s a version playing with those thoughts. Feel free to toss aside as preferred:
Thanks for your thoughtful C&C @Jim_Erhardt, @Ben_van_der_Sande and @John_Williams as it is always appreciated. Blackwater Falls SP is one of our favorite places to go and it is only a four hour drive. @Jim_Erhardt: I went back and forth on just how much to crop off, but I think I will take off a little more. @John_Williams: Thanks for taking the time to do a rework; looks good. I had not noticed the softness in the LLC, but I will check it out. Probably just some mist as you said.
