Was photographing wild flowers when this sparrow flew into the area with a long peice of grass in its beak. It seemed to poise for a few seconds.

Specific Feedback

Is the background too dark, I could not decided how dark I wanted it. Is it over sharpened?

The eye contact and the long piece of grass, really set the framing for the photograph.

Nice job, John. The fact that it’s holding the piece of grass almost perfectly horizontally adds a lot to the image.
