The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Finally !!! Rain. It has been a dry summer and then it poured. A real hard rain. So I got my camera and captured the moment … I tried to really get the feel and the energy of the rain out in the front of the house.
Specific Feedback
Subjective photography. Did I capture that moment. I had vision but did I capture my vision. I put this image and question to my friend Cole Thompson. Sometimes others can give you there idea of what you were trying to do. Not right or wrong but another view of capturing something we experience.
Technical Details
ISO 5000 Shutter 500 f11 edit in Photoshop …

I think you caught the density of the rain quite well, Gill. Rain can be very difficult. I’ll usually slow down the shutter speed so the drops form streaks instead of dots to intensify the effect, though it doesn’t look like much intensification would be needed here. In looking at the image, there appears to be a puddle in the foreground and it makes me wonder how it would work to concentrate on that area and the splashes produced by the rain? Just an idea for thought.
Yes in the foreground , The street ,everywhere. It rained hard. Ill look at maybe a crop in that area… I am writing a song for this image. 60s instrumental vibe. My goal is to put my images with my music as one. If you like progressive music ill send you a song and image. Eclectic Instrumental music… Siia Sunra.
Nice B&W image. I really like it. The rain is coming down so hard that it looks like film grain. Or perhaps you added some grain…Either way, I think you captured the rainstorm moment. Well done.
Gill, I really like the grainy effect and the atmosphere the rain has produced. I can also hear the noise the rain produces. I have two suggestions for next time, but you are going to get wet!
Could you tie back the branch that protrudes top rhs and can you arrange the lamp post is illuminated? You may need to put a battery spotlight directly behind the pole, shining on the glass of the lamp itself. Hopefully some of the light will illuminate the bench bottom rhs and separate the bench from the wood pile.
Thanks. It was raining so hard. This is really grab shot. Maybe I can edit a little different. The grain in ISO 5000 and just hard rain.
Thanks for showing interest.
