Northern Pintail

Image Description

My photo club has color and mono categories, so lately I’ve been looking for birds that work in monochrome. I think the pintail works.

Oh HO!! So do I! This has a quiet elegance with the still water and lovely reflection! My first thought was to want the bird a little higher in the frame, but the “extra” space at the top gives a feeling of the expanse of the pond and is not at all distracting. I love the soft reeds and their lovely reflections! Superb!!

Lovely image with beautiful reflection. I like the fact that it moves toward the lighter area in the pond.

Nicely done, Allan. Pintails are always rather elegant looking ducks and the B&W conversion does it justice.

Allen, as other’s have said, this is very nicely elegant and peaceful. There are lots of interesting details both in the bird and in the water with it’s gentle reflections.

Stunning details of the duck reflecting in the waters. A fine art feel to the composition and the tack sharp subject.

Allen: What @madd_laura said. I do very little avian or B&W but this combines both beautifully. A very enjoyable result. Most excellent. >=))>
