Hi Dean, I like these ducks with the long bill - this is a nicely colored male. Northern Shoveler is correct. The colors look fine to my eye. Even though the details on the duck aren’t quite spot on, it is reasonable sharp. The composition looks good to me with a tad more room on the right for the duck to swim into. Love seeing that prominent yellow eye.

Nice job on this one, Dean. the only think I’d add to Allen’s comment is that it looks like you pulled the whites down a little further than necessary. The whites on the body are starting to look a bit muddy, so I think you could bring them up a bit.
