Not Just For The Birds

I was sitting out in the yard with my husband this afternoon and smartly took a camera with me. I noticed a Honeybee getting a drink of water so went over and knelt down to his level and captured him and his reflection in the water.

Anything that might improve this. I wish I had cleaned the bird bath recently! The water wasn’t all that clear.

Shirley, this is a great catch, with the bee and it’s reflection. While they do need to drink water, it’s hard to capture that action.

Quite super! I’ve noticed them doing this, but never caught it so brava! I’m not sure I can offer any way to improve this. It’s just so terrific. Our queen bees are still hibernating.

Fantastic capture, Shirley……and a good lesson to boot……never, ever leave home without your camera! Love the detail you’ve gotten in the bee, but the soft reflection is wonderful. Glad to hear the weather is nice enough to be able to sit outside.

Fantastic capture Shirley. The angle and reflection is amazing that show her very well. Even the very fine details of the bee show up very well in this photo.

I saw this and only hearted it when you posted it a few months back, just seeing it again and had to comment! I just love it! It makes me think of one of those scenes with some magnificent animal at an African watering hole with the reflection, like a lion or cheetah. This is that on a miniature world scale! What a neat capture! You observed and framed it perfectly!
