Am now mulling the idea of doing a shoot in the late evening rather than in the mornings. The light is quite different, and the subjects are quieter, and gives me a scope for experimenting.
Was F22 with 12 mm of extn and a raynox. The picture wing dragonfly was all still, as the light was fading off. Used a touch of flash with diffuser, kind of lighting up only its bright parts.

Balan, I like the right down in his face look of this guy. Wonderful details in the eyes. You managed the flash nicely to not blow out the highlights on him. I like how the colors on his face compliment the colors on his wing. It is always nice to try other things, and a different time of the day sounds like it is working well for you.
Balan, The colors on this insect are very interesting. Light used very well to light up selectively. the sharpness on the head is excellent. the dark background works very well. Excellent image!
