Was intrigued with these hot springs in Yellowstone when I overheard a tour guide mention a man that thought it would be a good idea to try out the waters. I think she said they did find a belt buckle…could be a Yellowstone fable, but perhaps, not.

Chris, the story is true, except that only one sandal was found. Catching the bubble of boiling water as it bursts is a nice touch.
More likely a sandal as it is mostly rubber, whereas the buckle would dissolve faster than the bones, I suspect.
This book makes a for an interesting read, lots of foolhardy people to go around.
Beyond the boiling bubbles, I also love the colors and texture in the water. The mix of warm and cool colors here are great.
I did a scroll crop on my monitor to remove the rocks at the top of the image. I think the simplification of cropping away the top helped make this more of an abstract image, which to me made the image even more interesting.
