Description
In terms of rainfall, winter is starting on time this year after being almost a month late the last several years. (We don’t have autumn here, and barely spring. It’s the rainy season and the dry season.) But in spite of that I noticed this new flower today. It’s the only one on this bush and I haven’t checked the other two yet. Despite being late (or early?) it has the usual heavenly scent.

The leaves remind me of laurel, but the flowers are so tiny (or is that just my imagination?) - I love them for the sweet quality they present by my thinking they are small. I also like the radial lines aspect of the leaves main veins pointing straight to them. The little buds and the older one are equally nice as they expand the cycle. Stack looks good. The wb seems a tad warm to me, but it might be dead on since I wasn’t there. Glad you found them!
Thanks, @Dennis_Plank and @Kris_Smith! Kris, you’re right about the color cast – I let myself get seduced by warm tones. The leaves are a dull dark green but not yellowish. (RP above.) The older flower was warmer and I was trying to emphasize that. This morning the two buds are half open and the two older ones look the same, as far as I can tell without a magnifying glass. They do look tiny – I was surprised when I measured them to see each individual flower is 1". I was guessing the group was that size.
Diane: My apologies for being so late to this party but I’ll be lazy and ditto @Kris_Smith . I do like your rework although the original looks fine to me as well. Nice job filling the frame and for the great work on the stack. Most excellent. >=))>
