Nuthatch

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Here’s a pose I got of a white-breasted nuthatch out back recently (they don’t hold still much). I like it as a B&W since that’s pretty much what it was originally.

Specific Feedback

Cropping? I think its pose works what with its head turn. You?

Fun catch! A nice perch and good DOF. The pose works for me and I like the gently mottled BG.

Nice composition, Dave, and the black and white works fine. The pose works well.

Hi Dave
This photograph works in B&W. the Nuthatch has good feather detail and framing bring my eye right to the bird head. Nice work.

Hi Dave, nice black and white treatment and I like the subject placement in the frame. Nice background. Pose is good but a bit more of a head turn towards us would be better IMO.
