Description
All eyes in the Big Top were turned upward as the fearless Katedido (without safety net) prepared to leap across the void.
Actually, I feared for the katydid for a different reason. There was a big orb weaver spider not far above in the main web. But our star was obviously in complete control, not caught up at all, just chilling on the struts. The spider realized this and made no move downwards.

Holy Cow! Wonderful situation, with perfect viewpoint, DOF and detail! Toning down the greens was excellent, still looking realistic and leaving all the attention on the subject. I love the antennae!
Mike, I like the tension expressed in this image. I at first thought he was caught in the web, and those eyes were expressing fear. But after reading your comments I am happy to know the Katydid was fine. Very well seen, captured.
What a great find, Mike, and very well photographed. When I was looking at the thumbnail, I was thinking “that’s a really odd looking spider”. Neat to see and I loved your little story to go with it.
Thanks @Dennis_Plank@Shirley_Freeman and @Diane_Miller. I too saw fear in the eyes of this “fearless one”, Shirley. He’s a good subject for Disney! Diane, I thought the antennae looked a bit like the pole that high-wire artistes use.
