Excellent, Peter. I like the angle you managed to get on this Osprey and the slight head turn works. I also like the flat wings as it makes is look like it has no intention of altering its course for any puny human.
A very lovely comp and the osprey eyes are especially nice. The subtle details in the BG add context along with the slightly warm color enhances a fine composition…Jim
Peter, a truly wonderful in flight image here. Anyone viewing this graceful and natural airborne scene lends credence to aircraft designs right down to the wingtip winglets.
Excellent…
I am always amazed with this type of photography as it’s not something I have or know how to do! But I agree with everyone’s comments and would only add that the blurred bokeh background and color harmonizes perfectly with the close-up of the bird in flight. I wonder what this would look like mounted in a super-wide frame, say 48 inches? I’d guess the resolution would hold up well. Really nice photo!
Hi Tom
This photograph, like almost all of my photograph is a product of just getting up and going out to photograph what every nature provides that day. The. more you go the more opportunities you will have to take this shot.
The crop is 4813 by 2707 and at full res. 9.2Mg. Thank you for your kind words.
Peter
This is fantastic. I notice you have the same setup as me, except I’m not yet using the TC. I should take some lessons because you are getting fantastic images. Are you handholding?
It’s really a great image, the wing shape, the face, as others have said the BG colors. Congratulations!
Hi Julie & Mike
Thank you for you kind words. Julie 98% of my photographs are hand held and I use the 1.4TC because most of the birds are migratory and getting close is some time not an option.
