Questions to guide your feedback
Recently started using a Lensbaby Velvet 85mm coupled with a Canon R5 for some more creative work while in the field. Not certain if this image really works, perhaps the flowers are a bit separated in the scene. Looking for general feedback, composition and editing would be great and thank you in advance.

This is perfect for the Macro category. I like your dreamy Lensbaby look (and the frog’s dreamy look too!). So I don’t think sharpness is an issue here at all. I think you could crop out the close flowers on the right and also crop in a bit from the left to have a square. This would heighten the dreamy effect to my eye, as the sharper flowers on the right wake me up a bit! Great colors too.
Very cool!! I love the Lensbaby’s unique take on DOF! The area behind the frog right in the center is simply gorgeous. And the colors are very pleasing. I don’t mind the flowers on the right but I think it could be good to burn down the bright ones in the LL corner. A smidge off the left could move the froggie over to balance them a bit more, but I’d hate to lose anything on the left side as it is very pleasing. I’m sitting here with a big smile!
James: Haven’t seen a lensbaby shot in a while and this is a good one. My thoughts pretty much echo @Diane_Miller. Nicely composed and executed. Great to have you back aboard and looking forward to more. >=))>

A very interesting use of the lensbaby and very nicely done. Looks like he was happy to pose for you. I think my preference would be to crop in from the right to exclude the flowers, especially since they are so sharply in focus. They seem to draw attention away from the from. Beautiful capture of this darling frog.
