The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Rummaging around in the attic again, I came across some from a quick trip to Point Lobos a couple of years ago that had barely been worked up. The light was uninspiring as were the scruffy subjects, and the wind was from the wrong direction but I thought I’d toss this one out anyway. I thought for a minute he was going to land on top of his friends.

Technical Details
Basically nothing done but a crop and Topaz Denoise, which would only show at 100% magnification.

I took one look at your pelican image and thought “This has gotta be a Point Lobos image”!
[This is my 56th year going there - and I’ve never ever gotten tired of it.]
I like the square crop. The wrong direction of the wind does not bother me. A very pleasing image.
Nice action capture. I would look at making it into a vertical crop if it were mine. BTW, I too have lots of pelican pics from that rookery at Point lobos. I always have to make sure that I have a fully charged battery for that hike!
A nice documentary shot of preening how pelicans spend their time when they’re not fishing, Diane. The right side of the frame feels a bit empty to me and I think I’d crop in a fair distance, but that’s just me.
Thanks, @franz, @David_Schoen, @Dave_Douglass and @Dennis_Plank! The composition is a bit awkward but I felt the left side had some leading line to the landing bird but I can see a vertical.
Always spare batteries and a laptop to download the cards every night. (I’m good for about 7,000 frames on a card and a battery holds out almost that long. The light this quick trip was not inspiring and tourists were all over the place, even on a weekday.
