Nice job on getting the flower and the spider, Allen. You don’t mention the crop, but if you have the pixels, with the single bloom and the spider being the stars of the show, you might want to look at a tighter crop, though the buds above the open flowers make that tricky to compose.

Thanks for the suggestion, Dennis. Alternate version posted.

Great job on the repost, Allen. I was afraid those buds were going to be an issue, but you handled them nicely.

I like the new crop very much - gets rid of busy-ness. Also I love how the yellow bits coincide with the purple petals.

I LOVE finding hidden spiders in my macro shots. I also prefer the cropped version since it feels more harmonious and has better left to right flow. The one time I had wild hyacinth to shoot I had similar issues with vertical v. horizontal and a lot of stems, leaves and busy background to contend with so I feel your pain in trying to get this organized. A spider did not grace me with its presence, however. I love the color of this species though - not quite a magenta or purple. Nice.

Allen: Count me among the fans of the crop. I love the color contrasts and the photo bomber is icing on the cake. Well done. >=))>
