Oh yes! I’m a sucker for bright colour contrasts, and when the focus and pose are as good as this, there is no cause for complaint. Maybe cut off some of that empty space at the top, if only to enjoy our subject the more. Well taken!
Allen, what is not to love about this shot. I love how the orange on the BF picks up the oranges in the BG and flower. Nice pose, wonderful details in the BF. I could see doing the crop that @Mike_Friel suggested, but still a wonderful image as presented.
Drop-dead gorgeous detail on the Swallowtail with a perfect BG/setting. I agree to some off the top, and also from the left. The brighter foliage on the left pulls my eye away from the two flowers, which are important elements.
Allen, this is a great look at this Pipevine, with the BF full sharp throughout in a very colorful setting.
A worthy editor’s pick, wonderful image.
I can agree with the comments to crop a bit off the top. Nice job to have the subject perfectly sharp and maintain a nice BG.
Just an absolutely glorious image that sings of “summer”! The color and detail is spot on. Lovely!
What a beautiful image, Allen. We have a backyard full of lantana and it is a butterfly magnet. I love angle you’ve shot this, almost underneath the lantana and butterfly. I would crop about 30% of the negative space at the top of the frame. Excellent image and deserving of an EP!!!
