Set the camera to f-10 to try for a sharper image. Use the same backdrop often because the eastern bluebird loves the berries.

The colors and light are really lovely. Not sure how I feel about the head on pose as opposed to side on. It’s unusual. That breast though - what a proud boy! Looks like a perfect specimen. No doubt he’ll make some robust babies with the Mrs.
Hi Wayne, nice pose and as Kris said I like seeing all the red on his chest. I’m okay with the perch even though the branch cutting through the bird may not be ideal. Are you using a tripod? If not, that may help with sharpness if they often come to this same branch.
Yes. He does look quite pleased with himself. I don’t mind the pose. The eye look in focus and there is a highlight so fine for me. Nice perch as well.
A prime specimen, Wayne. He has beautiful color. The focus looks good and the sharpness of the breast is fine. I don’t see any sign of motion blur in this one.
Nice pose, though a slight head turn to its right might be better. Good detail and I like the perch and the surrounding foliage contrast well with the finch. I do find, though, the background to be a bit distracting.
Thanks to all. I use a tripod with my bird tent and plan to alter my background soon. Birds are busy nesting in this area now.
