Proximity Problem

Those brave little Magpies are always trying to grab a scrap while the eagles are feeding but this eagle has that look that says “Don’t even think about it!”.

A fine behavior catch, Gary. It is pretty amazing how the small critters will try to get a few bits of a bigger one’s prey and how brazen Magpies are.

Awesome capture Gary. Image speaks for itself - no need for captions here!

Reminds me of watching and photographing the seagulls trying to get morsels of salmon - from the brown bear at Katmai… Big vs. small. You know who wins.

Wonderful behavior capture, Gary. What that little Magpie doesn’t realize, evidently, is that he also can be dinner for the Eagle. Great image.

Gary: Magpies are some of my favorite birds. We don’t have them in my part of Texas but they seem to be just about everywhere we travel in the west so I always associate them with good experiences. I think this guy would be well advised to be patient. >=))>
