Psalm 19:1

Critique Style Requested: Standard

Description

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.
In November of 2014 I went to a medical conference in Denver and decided to indulge myself for a few days before with a side trip to Great Sand Dunes NP, one of my favorite places on the planet. On my first night there I stuck around near the visitor center as dusk approached and everyone else headed home. As this show started there was a lone custodian taking out the trash before he also left, seemingly oblivious to what was going on. This is easily the most spectacular sunset I have ever witnessed and I literally had an entire national park all to myself. I had two cameras working different segments of the sky and was mesmerized for over an hour start to finish. This is one of if not my favorite frame of the evening. The glory of the Lord did indeed show up! >=))>

Specific Feedback

Please excuse my absence this week. Our home still is without power/internet as is my primary office after Hurricane Beryl. There are still over 500,000 customers without power in the Houston area. One of our other offices close to my house is open so I’m here stealing electricity to charge up phones, laptops, etc.

That’s amazing, Bill. Just to have the whole NP to your self, and a scene like this as well. I am sure you enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for sharing this beautiful sunset.

Gorgeous!!! I love the tiny hint of horizon.

Best wishes for everyone suffering from the storm. Being without air conditioning in that climate must be brutal.

Gorgeous sky! When the heavens open like this, it reminds me of the quite insignificant role we all play in the universe. Very humbling.
Excellent capture!
Sure sorry about the weather down there - really tough, with the heat and humidity. Hope you’re back to normal very soon.

Spectacular sunset indeed!!!

This is just gorgeous Bill. Fascinating shapes and textures and awesome colors. I hope you get power back soon. I can’t imagine dealing with the weather there without electricity, ice and air conditioning.

Bill, it is a spectacular sky. Sorry to hear you’re struggling through weather related problems.

Truly stunning, Bill. Will hold good thoughts about the speedy restoration of your power.

Love this Bill! I wonder if you could coerce a little more sharpness or texture into the sky? It may very well be the resolution of this image, but the sky seems a little soft. I love the way you’ve displayed the huge sky over an apparently tiny landscape! I also love Ps 19:1. That verse is the inspiration for the name I use for my photography…Singing Sky Photography. I figure a sky can proclaim by singing!
