I like the purple glow in your image. Dawn sometimes looks like that to me. I have never seen Joshua Tree with snow. I can see the possibilities of all that smooth rock speckled with white. The highlights in the snow are a wonderful addition but I guess it’s the highlights of the rocks that are the main attraction. You might try to accentuate that even more and even add a touch more saturation to the colors of the cliff and make the rock highlights just a bit brighter. Just a theory on my part. And maybe a crop off the right to remove the sunny cliff on the edge. Nice work.

Thank you for your feedback, Igor! I think you’re right. I’ll definitely try this out

The colour here are indeed very nice - the orange of the rocks goes very nicely with the purple/violet of the sky. I agree with Igor about a slight crop from the right to help tighten the composition a little bit more.

Hi Matthew,
The soft delicate light in this scene is sublime and has created this lovely glow on those rocks as well as some patches of snow. I am also very much enjoying the pastel violet color of the sky and the snow looks about perfect. My only suggestion is the already mentioned small crop from the right side. Very nicely done!

The colours are great, however I feel the image a bit unbalanced with the brightest area on the lhs sky being the issue. I wonder if the photo would be more balanced if the tree at the edge of the ice on the rhs and associated snow were brightened

It’s a beautiful shot. I agree about cropping the right-hand side to eliminate the part that’s rising.

@Tom_Nevesely , @Ed_Lowe , @Don_Peters , and @Igor_Doncov , looks like the consensus is to crop the cliff on the right hand side. I think that makes sense, as it will focus more on the main rocks in the center, highlighting their spectacular shape and size

Thank you, @Rob_Sykes . I will take this into consideration in my next edit
