The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I went out to shoot dewy spider webs a few days ago and got a little experimental remembering some of the cool diffraction colors some people have gotten out of webs. This one was shot at an acute angle to the web and this is a severe crop even then to try to isolate a section I liked.
Specific Feedback
I’m not at all certain about this composition and posted it mostly for interest rather than art. However, if anyone can suggest a better way of presenting it, I’d love to hear it.
Technical Details
Sony A7Rv, FE 70-200 f/4 Macro @ 200 mm, hand held, f/14, 1/200, iso 800. Processed in LR & PS CC. Cropped to 3475x2503. Modest increase in the saturation and took the background to black just lowering shadows (fairly dark background to start with).

Use of the template is optional, but it can help spark ideas.

Dennis: Really cool find and delightful colors. For me almost all the interest is in the spectral display so much of the upper part of the image doesn’t engage me except for the line or two where the drops are fairly sharp, especially the one larger drop top center on my suggested crop. Certainly a worthy subject and hope you find more. >=))>
I think I prefer the original with the straight line right across (also colored to balance with the bottom a bit). Hard to know what to include and exclude with web shots. As Kris said, the CD-like patterns are fascinating. Next time you might have fun blowing up the colorful parts more by cropping in post, to see what emerges. Gorgeous shot, Dennis.
Thanks, Mike. Quite a crop already. I’ll need to dig out the old true macro 180mm and maybe some extra magnification or pick up one of those super macros (which I’ll admit are awfullt tempting).
