Red-lored Parrot

The Laguna de Lagarta Lodge in Costa Rica has a large covered dining and social area with feeders and nesting areas around it. This species didn’t seem to come to the feeders, but they appeared o be very interested in the hollow top of this cut-off palm. They would be there first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening. This image was taken in the evening of our first day at the lodge.

Wonderful detail and great tonalities in the soft light. Looks like it was a wonderful trip!

Hi Dennis, lovely image with pleasing tones and finely smooth complimentary background. Nice details and the red in the eye is a nice detail to show off. Well done.

Beautiful Parrot, Dennis. Great comp and processing too.

Nice smoky background, Dennis. Just a bit too much added canvas for me but that is pretty subjective. The textured tones through the breast and back of the parrot are very nice. All the soft green tones are lovely.

Pleasing image. I like all the different tones of green in the parrot.
