Hi David. While I do like the water in this image, the contrasting color of the Phalarope holds my eye and I find myself not even looking at the left 1/3 of the image. Perhaps, if the interesting water were in front of the bird, it would work better. It does still convey the idea of how small this bird is in a big ocean.
Seems like you had a great time there ! Love these birds in breeding plumage, over here we only get the occasional vagrant, but alas always in winter plumage. Love the rough setting ! Cheers, Hans
