Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I caught this guy turning around preparing to fly this morning. He spun around facing away from me and eventually took off. I like the moment.

Specific Feedback

Is that mostly square crop okay?

very nice! Unusual wing position, great pose, bright eye.
Fine detai, BG, and interesting perch as well.
Great catch, Dave!

The crop/composition looks good. A good perch whose colors go well with the hawk.

I really like the “pose” in this one , Dave. The crop is fine with me. A very fine image.

Hi Dave, I like the pose of the bird and the crop looks fine to me. Good sharpness on the bird. Well composed with the full branch on the left.

Sweet EP! Congrats!

Quite the dynamic and energetic catch. I think the crop looks good although I’d probably make some of the little bits of branch on the very right edge go away. I’m weird like that. It looks a trifle cyan, but that could just me me being weird again. What a cool scene.

Excellent! Congrats on the EP…Jim

Really nice EP!

Excellent!
Perhaps a little more “red” ?

Hi Dave
The framing an reaction of the Red-tail are very good. I played with the photograph, trying to bring out more red in the Red-tail and gave up. So I converted into a B&W using the Nik collection. Hope you like it.
Peter

Looks good! An improvement, I’d say.
