Rooftop Ravens

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I got inspired to step out back during a snowstorm to look for some photo possibilities and a pair of nearby ravens on a neighbor’s rooftop got my attention. I like the B&W high key look of it.

Specific Feedback

Cropping about right?

Technical Details

I like this a lot, Dave, but I sure hope it’s not a current image! The depth of field is really nice with the out of focus snow flakes making their statement on the ravens and yet the birds and the first roof edge ice is nice and crisp. I don’t know how you cropped it but given the direction they’re looking, I could see a bit more room on the right and top.

Hi Dave, that’s a lot of snow coming down - well seen and captured. I like the B&W aspect of the image too and the layering of the rooftop. Cropping is alright for my taste.
