Roseates in flight

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I always enjoy trying to catch the Roseate Spoonbills in flight when I visit this Louisiana rookery.

Specific Feedback

Any.
The bird in the first image was very tight in the frame so I added canvas all the way around.

Technical Details

Gorgeous subjects, wonderful captures! I love the colors and tonalities in the birds but I wonder about darkening the greens a bit in the second – the contrast is eye-catching, at least for me.

Gorgeous work on these birds, Allen. The plumage detail is superb with great wing positions and exposure. I do agree with Diane on the second image. My eye initially goes to the wing then swings to the bright green patch above the head where it locks on.

Perfect pose of the spoonbill, the upper images is my favorite … mainly to the darker BG I guess. Cheers, Hans

Hi Allen
I feel like I am back at the eye doctors, is this better 1 or 2. Both are very nice and I think, I will go with number 1.
