Another “Bird on a Rock” as David called it from out shorebird expedition a few days ago. Actually, this is a concretion of shells on an old piling, so calling it a rock is stretching it. This bird was quite a distance off and like an idiot, I didn’t wear rubber boots. However, I liked the 'rock", so I deliberately left it fairly small in the frame.

A nice look at the Turnstone in a typical environment. Good color and detail. I find the large OOF rock on the left draws my eye a bit.
Excellent environmental composition. The detail, pose, perch, and background are all well done. I don’t find any distracting parts of the image but probably because I was there.
A great environmental shot, Dennis. Wonderful detail in the bird, and I like the background of the water. If Allen hadn’t mentioned it, I don’t think the rock on the left would have bothered me, but now my eye wants to go check it out! Maybe if you darkened it just a tad, it would help. It truly is a great shot like it is, certainly one I would like to call my own.
