Beautiful pose on the hummingbird, Kurt, with very nice wing position and still a subtle bit of motion blur even at 1/4000. The fairly harsh light was nicely positioned for the hummer, but it is showing up a bit in the flower. It would take a very careful selection with this complex a flower head, but you might be able to subdue that light with highlights and shadows adjustments.

Great detail along with the slight wingtip blur. I like the set up with the background and flower. Nice to see one can obtain shots like this without an elaborate flash set up.

Hi Kurt, great pose you captured with fast enough shutter speed to give a good bit of definition to the raised wings. All looks good to me with sharp details throughout the body of the hummer and pleasing BG. Interesting flower too. Well done.

Oh lovely shot. Great wing position and I like the scale introduced by the flowers. Is this a young male? We don’t have these here so I’m not familiar with them, but Ruby throats often have pale patches on their gorgets until their adult feathers grow in. Very cute. Like a teenager growing his first beard. I’m not bothered by the brightness since I often photograph hummies in bright sun, but if you’re open to it, cloning away the bit of plant pointing over his head and maybe the similar one on the far right of the stem would be nice for some simplification. Hummingbird feet just kill me every time I see them so thanks for that.
