I’ve probably taken over a thousand shots of Sanderlings, but this is probably one of my better ones, as they are facing me and relatively still. Usually they seem to face the ocean or are running around. Still trying for a great shot of the flock in flight( hence the fast shutter speed).

Nice! I understand what you mean about them always seeming to be facing the ocean. That’s my problem with ALL birds; they always seem to face away from me. I also really like how intently they are digging in the mud. Color, lighting, and detail are all excellent. Nicely done.
Very nice shot of these guys Allen, I like the feeding action with pushing the sand up. I might crop a bit from the top and the right to focus more attention on them.
