Sandhill Crane Unison Call

Sandhill Crane (Antigone canadensis)

I rarely get close enough to the cranes to get any decent images with some details in the plumage. Today, I got lucky. I’m also getting more comfortable with the new camera/lens setup and autofocus quirks. I need to keep practicing for my trip to Malheur Wildlife Refuge in South Eastern Oregon this spring…Can’t wait.

Cool! I didn’t know they sang together. Wonderful you were able to get this close. I love the touch of brown feathers that matches the grass.
