Sandstone Weathering

The sandstone headlands of Cape Kiwanda have been cracked, broken, molded, and smoothed by the relentless onslaught of the Pacific Ocean. On this day the waves were not particularly huge but large enough to create this cascading effect from the wave retreating. I would love to see this place during a true storm!

Wow! That’s really awesome, Ben! It looks like a waterfall. You really captured the moving water well.

Ben, the visual challenge of understanding that this is a wave splash is great. I like how you’ve got nearly pure white across most of the bottom and lower right, but a bit of dark rock on the left. I think seeing just a bit of ocean in the top left works well also.

I like it - an unusual look at wave activity.
