Season's End

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

We’ve had a really good day lily season but it is finally winding down. This is the last bunch to bloom and in a few days when the last bud opens and fades there won’t be many left. Some do bloom later in the summer on occasion but I’m not seeing any new growth yet.>=))>

Specific Feedback

I never can decide how to deal with the spent flower stumps. I just decided this time to leave them alone as part of the scene. Your thoughts?

Cantaloupe sorbet!!! Gorgeous stack, wonderful light and BG! I love the composition with the buds and flower reaching to same way. The cut ends could be burned, and the bottom one and the part of one to the right of it could be clone out easily. That would remove part of the repetition, which adds to the attention they get.

I really like the story this image tells, Bill. The buds, the beautiful bloom and the cleavage ends where the old flowers were tell a compelling story of the cycle these plants go through.
