Always resisted posting this cosmos shot because of the stray petal. The title is obviously meant to get round this !!!

What technical feedback would you like if any?

What artistic feedback would you like if any? Does the errant petal spoil the image or does it add a little interest ?

Any pertinent technical details: Canon 400D, 100 macro lens, 1/15 @ f5.6, ISO 200

Ian: Aptly titled and superbly captured. Iā€™m OK with the petal blocking a bit of the center. Terrific color palette and masterful DOF management. The BG glowing halo is a very nice touch.:beers::+1:>=))>

Ian, I like everything about this! I admit the OOF petals in the front are the least bit worrisome, but they are easily overcome by the sheer strength of the image.

In the smaller image, the petals bothered me a bit, Ian, but when I opened the larger image, the details in the center of the flower pulled my eye right past it, so this works for me. I love the setting for the flower, particularly the lighting on the buds and the green glow behind the flower.
