Description

I rarely shoot birds of any kind but on a trip to the Birmingham Zoo with my grandkids I came across this flamingo resting peacefully close to the fence. Light was filtering through the trees and was playing on the feathers. This was the best of the bunch.

Bill - Nice feather detail on those brilliant colours. I love the pupil in the very upper part of the eye - definitely keeping an eye on you.
Very nicely executed and a fun image !

Bill,

That stare is priceless. The feather patterns are great as well. But the stare…

Wonderful image! The eye really captures ones attention, but the colors and details are fantastic as well. And the cropping/composition is very creative!

I remember this one, Bill. A gorgeous image.

Works for me as a beautiful abstract, too. A stunning shot, Bill.

I really love this image! What a great choice to zoom in and create a more or less abstract image of the bird. The colors, textures and patterns are fantastic, but the best is the look of the eye.

I can see why you tossed this up as a favorite Bill, it’s just magical. Amazing how that pupil tilted up peeking at you really makes this so much more, and the details in the feathers are beautiful. Happy Holidays!
