Silver-spotted Skipper on ironweed

I found this skipper in the wildflower field behind my house.

Allen, this is very nice. I love the color combo with the flower in focus and the oof ones in the BG. Very nice details where needed on the Skipper. A nice shot, and you are blessed to have a wildflower field behind your house. Something we all could use right now. :grinning:

Hi,

Nice and sharp and the white areas of the wing are exposed perfectly. The comp and BG work well with the subject matter. The ding in the hindwing gives the skipper some character and reveals that it has survived some predatory activity…Jim

Allen: Really nice catch. I agree with Jim about the slightly tattered wing giving some nice context. Good effort for a small and in my experience skittish subject. >=))>

Allen, a fine view, with the butterfly and ironweed nice and sharp against a gently warm background. The touches of iridescence in it’s wings are a nice bonus.
