SnowCone

Description

I have a few more succulent images to share but I had to take advantage of a truly unique opportunity this morning. We got a few INCHES of snow overnight. Chrissy and I have lived in the Houston area for 40 years and this might equal the total or more amount of snow we’ve seen in that time span. We covered most of our plants but these roses are pretty hardy and I suspect and hope they will survive.>=))>

Specific Feedback

It was a little breezy and the camera was a little hard to handle so I eschewed a stack. I wanted the focus primarily on the flower head so hope this relatively shallow DOF works.

A lovely snow cone, Bill. I like the DOF you used on this. I think if you had stacked we would have lost that. It is all about the pretty red rose bud with the snow cap. The reds and browns show up nicely against the white snow. Well done.

What a cool picture Bill, Pun intended . . . Great handling of the whites and the reds in this one.

Very cool, Bill. I like the way the rose looks like a cup full of snow. You did a great job handling the whites, particularly for someone who doesn’t see snow often.

I suspect the roses will survive. They don’t have any problem in cold climates. Some of your more tropical plants might have difficulty.

What a fun image – both lovely and very unusual! I can imaging the roads were not fun – in a lot of places – but you seized a great opportunity here. The shallow DOF adds perfectly to the artistry. This isn’t one for a literal presentation. Well done!
